We replace with GRK RSS structural screws and add a backing block where the composite wall is too thin to hold torque.

DIY or Call Us?

Where DIY goes wrong: Bufftech’s composite rails require precise bracket alignment, within 1/16″ over 8 feet, or the rail binds and the warranty voids. The internal aluminum stiffener is sharp at the cut ends, and the GRK fasteners we use require a torque setting most homeowners’ drills don’t have. More critically, any addition or ADU component in Miami-Dade may fall under HVHZ fastening requirements, and an unpermitted repair can complicate your CO (Certificate of Occupancy) when you sell.
