Grant Rowan, Owner
I started this company in 2007 after watching a homeowner in Coral Gables get handed a bill that was forty percent higher than the verbal estimate. That was the last time I thought “good enough” pricing was acceptable. Under Clause 1 of the Haven Standard, we deliver a flat written price with a written scope before anyone touches your property. I’ve personally reviewed over 4,000 project files, and I still spot-check photo records from every crew. The 365-Day Done Right Promise isn’t marketing; it’s printed on every contract because I sign off on the jobs that need a callback. When I’m not on-site, I’m usually at the warehouse checking material orders against the brands we quoted - KraftMaid, Wellborn, Cambria, GAF, Belgard. Marcus T., Lead Technician - Roofing & Exterior
Marcus has been with us since 2014, and he handles the jobs where the substrate tells the real story. He’s certified in GAF and Owens Corning systems, but his real specialty is reading what happened before he arrived - the number of shingle layers, the condition of the soffit ventilation, whether the previous crew installed ice-and-water shield to code. Last year in Pinecrest, he found a roof with three layers and no deck inspection in the permit history. He documented it, stopped work, and called the homeowner with photos before proceeding. Off the clock, he rebuilds vintage motorcycles and applies the same tolerance for sloppy previous work to both trades.
Elena V., Senior Installer - Kitchen & Bath
Elena joined us in 2018 with twelve years of finish carpentry already behind her. She’s our go-to for cabinet installs that involve structural modifications - removing soffits, reframing for larger windows, integrating KraftMaid or Wellborn boxes into older Miami homes with settled floors and out-of-square walls. She holds a countertop certification from the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association and handles our Cambria and Caesarstone templating in-house. Her detail: she keeps a notebook of every job’s “surprise,” from a 1959 Dade County pine stud that crumbled to a Coral Way kitchen where the previous owner’s DIY electrical was live behind the drywall. She shares those notes in crew meetings. The apprentices learn more from her failures than most people learn from their successes.
Darius K., Service Coordinator
Darius is the person who answers when you call (786) 321-4970, and he’s the reason a live person picks up 24/7. He’s been with Rowan since 2019 and manages scheduling across all seven trades. His certification is in project management from the Construction Management Association of America, but his actual skill is translating homeowner anxiety into a clear sequence: this inspection happens Tuesday, materials arrive Wednesday, crew starts Thursday. He also coordinates our Free Second Opinion program - when you bring a competitor’s written estimate, Darius schedules the review and makes sure the right technician has time to go line by line. He grew up in Little Havana and still lives there, which means he knows which permits pull same-day and which require a longer lead at Miami-Dade Building.
Sofia R., Apprentice - Additions & ADU
Sofia started with us in 2022 after completing the construction program at Miami Dade College. She’s apprenticing under Elena for finish work and Marcus for framing, with a focus on ADU conversions - garage apartments, backyard cottages, the in-law suites that Miami’s zoning changes have made viable again. She’s not yet running her own jobs, but she’s the person who measures twice, photographs everything, and asks the question everyone else stopped asking. Her current project is a home addition in Coconut Grove where the original 1940s foundation required helical piers. She’s documenting the whole sequence for our training file. On weekends, she volunteers with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, which is where she learned to frame walls before she got paid for it.
