Cambria Driveway & Pavers: The Miami Owner’s Guide

We stock and install Cambria-compatible driveway pavers and retaining-wall systems in Miami, with typical installed projects running $8,260-$21,240 for paver driveway work and $4,130-$12,980 for patio installations. Most Cambria paver replacements and repairs can be assessed same-day once we see the joint pattern and substrate condition. Homeowners usually discover the problem when edge restraints pop after a heavy rain, when polymeric sand washes out from between joints in Miami’s summer downpours, or when individual pavers settle unevenly where the compacted base has shifted in our sandy, high-water-table soils.

Which Cambria Models This Applies To

Cambria’s hardscape line centers on the Coastal Stone and Heritage Cobble series, both distributed in South Florida through select masonry suppliers. The Coastal Stone 60mm paver and Heritage Cobble 80mm permeable version use different edge-restraint profiles and joint sand specifications, so matching the series matters for repair work. Check the paver underside for the stamped “CAMBRIA” logo and a two-digit thickness code, 60 or 80, which tells us whether your base was built for standard or vehicular load.

We are an independent service provider, not affiliated with Cambria. For repairs, we source OEM Cambria pavers when the color lot is still available, which is the cleanest match for partial replacements. When Cambria has discontinued the color, we specify quality aftermarket equivalents from Belgard or Techo-Bloc, matching the dimensional tolerance and compressive strength rather than chasing a close-enough color that reads wrong in Miami’s harsh sunlight. The gotcha most owners miss: Cambria’s Coastal Stone in “Shell” and “Driftwood” ran on the same press in 2019-2021 but with slightly different chamfer angles, so a 2024 replacement paver may sit proud of its neighbors even when the color matches.

Signs Your Cambria Driveway & Pavers Is Failing

Signs Your Cambria Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
  • Joint sand washing out between pavers. Miami’s rainfall intensity, often two inches in an hour during summer storms, overwhelms polymeric sand that was under-watered during installation or applied over damp bedding sand. The result is a bed of loose aggregate that lets pavers shift under tire load.
  • Individual pavers rocking or sounding hollow when stepped on. This means the bedding layer has eroded or the base compaction failed, usually where water ponds because the slope was set at less than one percent during the original install.
  • Edge restraints pulling away from the perimeter. Plastic spike-in edging degrades in UV faster than most homeowners expect in South Florida; we regularly see failure at the 6-8 year mark in Coral Gables and Pinecrest installations that used residential-grade rather than commercial-grade restraint.
  • Efflorescence blooming as a white haze across the surface. Calcium hydroxide migration is common in new installs but persistent efflorescence on older Cambria pavers signals water trapped in the base, often from a failed vapor barrier or irrigation overspray.
  • Settlement creating low spots that hold water. In Miami’s limestone geology, base material can migrate into voids in the native rock; we see this most often in Palmetto Bay and Kendall where the water table sits within two feet of grade.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Service Price Range (Miami)
Paver driveway installation (new) $8,260-$21,240
Driveway replacement (remove and redo) $5,900-$16,520
Partial paver repair / spot replacement $470-$2,125
Driveway sealing (maintenance) $295-$825
Base repair and re-compaction (per section) $1,180-$3,540

The range depends on three factors: how much of the base needs re-compaction, whether we can source the original Cambria color lot, and access for our plate compactor and dump trailer. Our quote is a flat written price with a written scope, delivered before any work starts. Under Clause 1 of the Haven Standard, that number does not change unless you sign a change order. Every paver job carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise, and you receive a documented photo record of the excavation, base condition, and finished surface as standard deliverables.

DIY or Call Us?

What you can safely check yourself: walk the surface after rain and mark settling pavers with chalk, verify whether your downspouts discharge directly onto the pavement, and photograph any efflorescence patterns before they fade. These observations save us time and you money during the estimate visit.

Where DIY goes wrong: pulling pavers without checking the base layer exposes you to silica dust from limestone aggregate, and re-compacting a base requires a plate compactor that most homeowners do not own. More critically, resetting pavers on an uncompacted or wet base guarantees the same failure in one Miami rainy season. The polymeric sand application is also unforgiving, over-water it and you get a haze that etches the paver face; under-water it and the joint never sets. We carry the right compaction equipment and stock Cambria-compatible edge restraints and joint sand on our trucks. Call (786) 321-4970 to schedule your free estimate.
