Jerith Roofing: The Miami Owner’s Guide
Jerith-compatible roofing parts in Miami typically run $470-$2,125 installed for repairs, with full Jerith roof replacement ranging $9,440-$23,600 depending on substrate condition and membrane spec. We stock common Jerith fasteners, ridge caps, and membrane flashing on our trucks, and most repairs are quoted with a written price the same day we inspect. Most Miami owners discover a Jerith roofing failure after a hard rain: water staining the soffit, granules collecting in the gutter from accelerated wear, or a lifted ridge cap fluttering in a summer thunderstorm off Biscayne Bay.
Which Jerith Models This Applies To
Jerith roofing systems fall into several series lines, and the part you need depends on when your roof was installed and which substrate the original contractor specified. The Jerith 2000 Series, common on Miami homes built between 1998 and 2008, uses a 5-inch exposure shingle with a proprietary fastener pattern that does not interchange with standard architectural shingles. The Jerith Pro-Grade line, introduced around 2010, shifted to a 6-inch exposure and a different ridge cap profile; the cap width changed from 10 inches to 12 inches, so a 2000 Series ridge cap will gap on a Pro-Grade installation.
To identify your series, check the underside of any loose shingle for the Jerith stamp and date code, or measure the exposure from butt edge to butt edge. If your roof was installed by a Jerith-authorized contractor, there may also be a specification sheet in your closing documents. We carry both OEM Jerith parts and aftermarket equivalents from GAF and Owens Corning that match the critical dimensions; for the 2000 Series, we typically recommend the OEM fastener because the head diameter is slightly larger and resists pull-through in Miami’s wind-driven rain. For Pro-Grade ridge caps, the aftermarket equivalent performs identically at a lower unit cost, and we note the substitution on the written quote so you see the difference.
Signs Your Jerith Roofing Is Failing

- Granule loss in gutters or downspout discharge. Jerith shingles use a ceramic granule coating for UV resistance, and heavy loss exposes the asphalt substrate to Miami’s intense solar load. Once the asphalt begins oxidizing, the shingle becomes brittle and crack-prone within one to two hurricane seasons.
- Lifted or cupped shingle edges, especially on the south or west face. This indicates the self-seal adhesive strip has failed, which on Jerith systems is often caused by thermal cycling rather than wind. The shingle lifts in afternoon heat, cools at night, and the seal never re-bonds.
- Water staining on the soffit or fascia board. On Jerith roofs, this typically traces to failed step flashing at a wall intersection or a cracked plumbing boot, not the field shingles. The water runs along the deck edge and exits at the soffit, so the leak location and the stain location may be ten feet apart.
- Sagging between rafters visible from the attic. Jerith roofing is specified for a particular deck deflection limit; if you see sagging, the deck plywood may be delaminating from chronic moisture intrusion, or the original installer used 3/8-inch where 1/2-inch was specified.
- Ridge cap shingles missing or displaced after a storm. Jerith ridge caps are heavier than standard caps, and if the original installer used standard nails rather than the longer fasteners Jerith specifies, the caps will strip in sustained winds above 50 mph, common in Miami summer storms.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For Jerith roofing repair in Miami, our installed pricing follows the ranges below. Every quote is a flat written price with line-item scope; under Clause 1 of the Haven Standard, no work starts until you have that number in hand.
| Service | Price Range (Installed) |
|---|---|
| Jerith roof repair (localized) | $470 - $2,125 |
| Jerith tile roof repair | $710 - $2,950 |
| Jerith roof replacement (full) | $9,440 - $23,600 |
| Jerith metal roof installation | $17,700 - $47,200 |
What drives the range: deck condition (we replace punky plywood at $3.50-$5.00 per square foot, noted separately), access complexity (steep pitches or tight Miami lots require scaffolding), and whether the original Jerith membrane is salvageable. Our price includes the part, labor, disposal, and a documented photo record of the deck condition before we cover it. The 365-Day Done Right Promise applies: if the repair fails due to workmanship or material defect, we return and make it right. We are an independent service provider; Jerith does not endorse or warranty our work.
DIY or Call Us?

There is one thing a Miami homeowner can safely check: walk the perimeter after rain and look for granule deposits or displaced caps. If you see either, the roof needs attention, and you have useful information for the contractor.
What we do not recommend: climbing the roof, lifting shingles to check seals, or attempting to replace ridge caps yourself. Jerith ridge caps are installed with six nails per piece in a specific pattern; miss the pattern and the next tropical storm will strip your work. More critically, Miami’s tile roofs, common in Coral Gables and Pinecrest, use Jerith-compatible clay tiles that weigh 8-10 pounds each and require walk boards to avoid cracking the field. Falls from residential roofs account for a significant share of ER visits in Miami-Dade; the savings on a DIY repair do not offset that risk. Call (786) 321-4970 and we will schedule an inspection, deliver a written price, and if you approve, complete most repairs within a few days.
FAQs
In Miami’s climate, a properly installed Jerith asphalt shingle roof lasts 18-22 years, shorter than the 25-year manufacturer rating because UV intensity and salt air accelerate granule loss and seal-strip degradation. Tile and metal Jerith systems last 35-50 years with proper flashing maintenance. Call (786) 321-4970 for a free inspection and written lifespan estimate on your specific installation.
Localized failures, single-course wind damage, or isolated flashing defects are repairable; widespread granule loss, multiple lifted shingles, or deck sagging indicate replacement is the cost-effective choice. We will show you the photo record and explain which condition your roof is in before you decide. Call (786) 321-4970 for a free second opinion on any other contractor’s written estimate.
Most Jerith repairs we quote in Miami are completed in one working day: flashing replacement, ridge cap repair, or partial shingle replacement on a standard pitch. Full replacement takes 3-5 days depending on deck repairs and weather. We do not promise same-day completion on roofing work because deck conditions uncovered during tear-off can extend the scope, and we will not rush a signed change order. Call (786) 321-4970 to schedule.
We stock Jerith-compatible ridge caps, fasteners, step flashing, and pipe boots on our Miami trucks; OEM Jerith color-matched shingles for the 2000 and Pro-Grade series are warehoused locally and available within 24 hours. If your color is discontinued, we show you the closest current match on the written quote before ordering. Call (786) 321-4970 to confirm availability for your series and color.
