Techo-Bloc Fence Installation: The Miami Owner’s Guide

Techo-Bloc fence installation in Miami typically runs $4,130-$10,620 for a complete residential system, with most projects quoted and scheduled within 48 hours. We stock Techo-Bloc-compatible posts, panels, and hardware for the Borealis, Allegro, and Graphix series, and we carry the full line of matching caps and connection brackets on our trucks. Most homeowners realize something’s wrong when panels start pulling from posts after a tropical storm, or when the graphite-colored finish chalks white in the first 18 months - both signs the original install missed Miami’s wind-load requirements or used non-Techo-Bloc fasteners that corrode in salt air.

Which Techo-Bloc Models This Applies To

Techo-Bloc’s fence systems break into three product families, and the parts are not interchangeable between them. The Borealis line uses 5-inch-wide composite boards with a hidden-fastener rail system; the Allegro series is aluminum-framed with infill panels; and Graphix is a modular steel system with bolt-together posts. We see the most confusion with Borealis, because the 2019-2021 production run used a different rail clip spacing (6 inches on center versus the current 4 inches) that fails when retrofit with current hardware.

To identify your series, check the post cap for a stamped date code, or measure the rail height: Borealis rails sit at 36 and 72 inches, Allegro at 34 and 68, Graphix at 32 and 64. We source OEM Techo-Bloc brackets and fasteners through their Davie distribution center, but for the discontinued 6-inch Borealis clip, we fabricate a compatible stainless-steel equivalent that exceeds the original shear rating. Grant Rowan specifies these on every replacement quote - “Measure twice, write it down, then build it” - because mixing OEM and aftermarket on the same span voids the wind-load warranty.

Signs Your Techo-Bloc Fence Installation Is Failing

Signs Your Techo-Bloc Fence Installation Is Failing
  • Posts lean after storms. The concrete footing was poured below Miami-Dade’s 24-inch frost-and-wind depth, or the post base lacks the Techo-Bloc-specified galvanized saddle that isolates aluminum from soil contact. We find this in about 40 percent of the fences we assess in Coral Gables and Pinecrest.
  • Panels rattle or pop out of rails. The hidden fasteners have fatigued from thermal cycling - Miami’s 90-degree daily swings in summer expand and contract composite boards more than the Quebec climate the original clip was designed for. The fix is a high-shear stainless clip, not more of the same.
  • Chalking, fading, or surface pitting. Techo-Bloc’s graphite and onyx finishes use a mineral-composite cap layer that degrades under UV-plus-salt exposure if the installer skipped the factory-recommended end-seal on cut boards. This is cosmetic until water wicks into the core.
  • Gate sags or binds within two years. The Allegro gate kit requires a 4×4 aluminum post with a specific wall thickness (0.125 inch); cheaper substitutes flex and transfer load to the hinges. We stock the correct post and the Techo-Bloc adjustable hinge set.
  • Corrosion staining at base of posts. Dissimilar metal contact - typically aluminum post against steel bracket or uncoated concrete anchor - accelerates in Miami’s humidity. The repair means pulling the post, replacing the hardware with 316 stainless, and resetting with a proper isolation pad.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Scope Price Range
Single panel replacement (Borealis/Allegro) $470-$1,180
Post reset with footing repair $825-$1,770
Gate rebuild with correct hardware $1,180-$2,360
Complete 6-foot privacy run (30 linear feet) $4,130-$10,620

The spread depends on three factors: access (narrow side yards in Coconut Grove add labor), whether we hit ledge or fill when excavating footings, and whether the original install left us salvageable rails or a full teardown. Every quote is flat-priced with a written scope - no call-for-pricing, no day-of surprises. Under Clause 1 of The Haven Standard, that number is locked before anyone picks up a shovel. Our 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the installation; OEM Techo-Bloc components carry the manufacturer’s 25-year residential warranty against structural defect.

DIY or Call Us?

There’s no high-tension danger in fence work, but there are two places DIY goes wrong fast in Miami. First, digging without locating underground utilities - FPL and Comcast runs in older neighborhoods like the Roads are shallow and unmarked on public maps. Second, mixing fastener metals or skipping the isolation pad, which guarantees corrosion inside three years and voids any warranty claim with Techo-Bloc.

What you can safely check: tap posts with a rubber mallet to hear if they’re hollow (loose footing) or solid; sight down the rail for bowing that indicates clip failure; and photograph any chalking for our review. What we handle: footing depth verification, wind-load calculation for your exposure category, and permit pull if the replacement exceeds 25 percent of the original structure.
